Hetlinger Developmental Services has a new leader.
The special needs services agency announced that Tammy Maley has been named as the business’s new Chief Executive Officer. Maley brings 26 years of experience in intellectual and developmental disability services to the role and stated in a recent news release that she has observed many changes over the years in how agencies such as Hetlinger have evolved and grown to assist individuals with special needs.
Maley says, “In-house work contracts and simple daily activities are taking a back seat to client employment and skill development programming. Those with IDD are living longer, and the programs and services that assist them must address this dynamic. Our goal is to help our clients experience an ever more rewarding life.”
Of Maley’s selection, Hetlinger Board President Roberta Swanson stated, “We had a number of candidates for the position. Tammy’s lifetime commitment and track record of service to the IDD community make her the leader Hetlinger needs moving forward.”
Mayley is just the third Hetlinger CEO in the last 28 years and replaces Jill Burton, who led the agency from 2023 until February 13th. Burton replaced Trudy Hutchison, who retired at the end of 2022 following a 44-year career in disability services.
