Two nationally ranked Florida Southern teams were too much for Emporia State tennis as the Moccasins swept the Hornets in a doubleheader dual on Friday. The #8 Mocs knocked off the Hornets 6-1. Southern took the doubles point and swept #4-6 singles to win the match. Diego Calvo came from a set down to win in three at #2 singles. The Lady Hornets couldn’t pick up a point falling 7-0 to #11 Florida Southern to finish 0-3 on their Florida road trip. Yuliya Klimova provided some resistance at #2 singles but fell in a first set tiebreak before dropping a 6-4 second set. The Hornets return to action Thursday to face Sterling College while the E-State women open MIAA play with a road trip to Central Oklahoma on Friday, March 27.
