Following a four-game sweep for Emporia State baseball last weekend over New Mexico Highlands, the Hornet pitching staff has been honored for its role in holding down the Cowboy offense. The Hornets outscored Highlands 45-2 in the series and freshman Quinton Chindamo tossed a gem on Sunday with a 6-inning start and a career-high nine strikeouts and was named the Co-MIAA Pitcher of the Week. It was his longest outing of the season as he picked up his first career win. The Black & Gold start their second midweek MIAA series on Tuesday hosting Fort Hays State at 3:00 p.m.
