Emporia girls soccer started 2026 with a dominant 8-0 win at Junction City on Tuesday.
Viveca Fuller got EHS on the board with the first goal of the season. Emersyn Johnson found the back of the net four times, all in the first half, as Emporia led 5-0 at half. Fuller connected on an additional goal in the second half to finish with two. Madison Evans and Rylie Mitchell added to the scoring and the mercy rule ending was called with 23 minutes left in the game.
The Black and Red improve to 1-0 (1-0).
The Lady Spartans play their first home match Thursday against Wichita West.
