Since 1968, Good’s Cash Saver has been serving the Emporia community and now it is doing so in two locations.
Wednesday, ownership, management and staff of Good’s convened at the former Reeble’s Country Mart to officially cut the ribbon on the Good’s Merchant Street location. In attendance for the occasion was third-generation owner Matt Good, who stated he was very proud of the day and the growth his family’s business continues to see under his leadership.
Reeble’s has been owned by the Good family for many years now and Matt Good says both stores will now operate under a single banner; however, the popular deli and bakery at the Merchant location will retain the Reeble’s name that many customers have come to trust and identify with for decades. Good called this combination a “marriage of history and success” between the Merchant and Highway 50 locations.
Also in attendance Wednesday was Emporia Main Street Director Casey Woods, who called the expansion a big win for the community, adding that growing local businesses is essential in smaller communities like Emporia.
The Reeble chain was developed back in the early 1880s and had two downtown locations for years, the current one and Reeble’s South near First and Commercial, before the south store was closed in 2018.
Customers at the Merchant Street location will have the same cost-plus-10 percent pricing model as the West Highway 50 location. The downtown store will also maintain the Reeble name for its bakery and deli.
