A unique musical act is coming to town this weekend as Emporia Granada Theatre hosts a live performance by The Remotes this Saturday night.
The Southern California-based group will take the stage at 7 p.m., marking their first-ever appearance in Kansas. Known for their creative takes on classic television theme songs, the band brings a fresh twist to familiar tunes.
Founding member Tiffany LaBarbara says the band’s concept grew out of their shared background in TV production. That experience not only inspired their name but also shaped their unique musical style.
Fans shouldn’t expect note-for-note recreations, though — The Remotes pride themselves on reimagining iconic themes with their own flair and creativity.
Bandmate Phil Moore added that their shows appeal to a wide range of audiences. From longtime fans of classic TV to younger listeners discovering these themes for the first time, the concerts tend to draw all ages.
It may be a bit of a stretch to say this is a homecoming of sorts for founding member Aaron Solomon, but it definitely is for his wife.
This is the latest concert through the Emporia Arts Council’s Performing Arts Series. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and tickets are available for $15 by calling the Arts Council at 620-343-6473 or by going online to emporiaksarts.org.
