The Kansas Shrine Duals took place for a third time Saturday at Newman University in Wichita. Four area wrestlers took the mat for a final time in their high school careers in support of Shriners Children’s hospitals.
Emporia’s Yaneli Carranza was a late addition to the event. It didn’t slow down the 145 pounder, who topped Mya Trevino 12-2.
321A State Champ at 215, Tyler Hutchinson, topped Gunner Carey 5-3.
Leo DeDonder of Northern Heights fell in his match at 125 to Zachary Long, 9-5.
Fellow Wildcat, Brenah Cannon, lost by fall 3-0 to Jaida Hawkins at 180.
Team East won 85-70.
