On Monday, the first spring Area and Emporia Athletes of the Week were announced.
Adriana Weeden of Olpe earned the Area Athlete of the Week. In the circle, she struck out 14 hitters. In the batter’s box, she went 7-9 with six RBI’s and runs scored.
Emersyn Johnson won the Emporia Athlete of the Week. She helped lead the Lady Spartans to two victories on the pitch. She found the back of the net six times while setting up teammates with three assists.
