Emporia High swimming and diving finished ninth out of 14 Thursday in Topeka at Hummer Sports Park.
Allie Weiss captured her third straight gold medal in diving with a score of 278.85
Ellie Grimmett, Taryn Woydziak, Connelly Prouse and Ava Podrebarac teamed up for seveth in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay (4:53.37). Grimmett added a ninth place finish in the 2oo Yard IM.
Coach Phil Metz noted that he switched up the line for the meet.
“I swam the girls in different events than they have swam before. For being the 3rd meet in 7 days the girls had a really good day. We had an up and down day. We had some swims that were really good, like Taryn Woydziak’s anchor leg in the 400 free relay 1:07.99. I was pleased with how they swam.”
EHS travels to the Shawnee Mission Invite on Tuesday.
