The Emporia State women’s tennis team dominated Fort Hays State for a 6-1 victory at the Kossover Family Tennis Center in Emporia on Thursday. Carla Paul Piquer and Gionanna Ferreira won at #1 doubles without dropping a game on the way to a Lady Hornet sweep for the doubles point. Paul Piquer started the Big Gold off in singles with a 6-3, 6-1 win at #3 singles before her doubles partner Ferreira dropped just three games at #1 singles. Sheridan Wichman clinched the match in straight sets at #4 singles. ESU (8-6, 2-1 MIAA) returns to action for a rescheduled match on Monday as part of a dual doubleheader against Nebraska-Kearney in Emporia.
