Emporia High softball erupted for 37 runs in a doubleheader sweep of Highland Park at Hummer Sports Park in Topeka on Thursday.
In game one, Alivia Barrett tossed a four inning no hitter as the Lady Spartans won 16-0.
The Black and Red used an 11 run second inning highlighted by the first career homerun from Delaney Davis. Atlyn Heffron led the squad with two hits and Chloe Steele stole four bags.
Barrett earned the win striking out eight Scots and joined the 300 career strikeout club.
Emporia scored nine in the first and ten in the second for a game two win 21-0.
Oaklie Dawson drove in four RBI’s with two hits and scored twice. Marley Sewell had a team high three hits and three runs scored while driving in two.
Delaney Davis earned in the win and finished with five strikeouts.
EHS improves to 5-3 and returns to Peter Pan Park on Tuesday to face Washburn Rural.
