The Emporia State tennis teams played a doubleheader dual with Nebraska-Kearney at the Kossover Family Tennis Center on Monday. The Lady Hornets fell to Nebraska-Kearney 5-2 to start the dual. Sheridan Wichman and Yulia Klimova bageled their opponents at #2 doubles but the Lopers won the other two matches for the doubles point. Erin Cahill won at #6 singles to get ESU on the board, but UNK won the next three matches to clinch the dual.
The Hornets picked up a 6-1 win over the #21 Loper men. The Lopers took the doubles point to start the dual, but the Hornets rolled through singles to take the win. Luke West started the onslaught for Emporia State with a win at #4 singles. ESU won two of the matches in three sets and two with a super tiebreaker.
The Lady Hornets continue play Thursday hosting Washburn while the men host the Ichabods the next day in Emporia.
