Emporia’s One9 travel plaza is nearing an opening date.
Construction continues on the travel plaza’s gas station as well as restaurants. Sbarro, a pizza chain, and India Eats have signage already posted. Brownstone 3 Chief Operating Officer Darrin Dodge says Starbucks is coming, although that store may not be ready by the time the development opens next month. The One9 Starbucks will be a new franchise, meaning the Starbucks currently on Eaglecrest will stay in place.
The full development will also include retail shopping and at least one hotel. Dodge says negotiations continue for a hotel with a national flag.
