There was a big — but short-lived — power outage in and near Emporia on Friday.
Evergy announced an outage affecting areas from 9th and Commercial to Road 150, affecting over 1,000 customers.
The outage was reported around 8 am but was only about 15 minutes long. Senior Communications Manager Kaley Sturgeon says the incident was weather-related.
