Emporia High baseball fell twice Friday in Topeka to Washburn Rural in Centennial League action.
In game one, the Junior Blues scored early to pull away for the 11-1 win.
Washburn scored four in the first and two in the second. The Spartans managed two hits one each from Oliver Kline and Luke Marshall.
Micah Gray took the loss in two innings of work.
Game two was an extra inning thriller with EHS falling in the eleventh, 4-3.
Washburn Rural scored once in the second for the early lead and grew the advantage to three with a two run fifth. The Spartans answered with three in the sixth to tie it up. Three straight hits from Marshall, Gray, and Chase Harrington fueled the crooked number. The game remained at three until the Junior Blues walked off with a hit by pitch.
Eluterio Trujillo singled and drove in two.
Caydrick Crouch suffered the loss in five innings of relief. He struckout seven and gave up one run.
The Spartans drop to 5-5 (0-4). EHS travels to Hayden on Tuesday.
