The Lyon County Board of Zoning Appeals and Emporia Planning Commission have back-to-back meetings Tuesday.
The BZA has one item on its agenda, a request for a variance from the front and side yard building line at 2803 Eaglecrest, the site of an ATM near a Taco Bell — in preparation for a 7Brew Coffee drive-thru.
The Planning Commission, meanwhile, has two items related to one topic — property at 615 Overlander Road, which is in the process of becoming space for Flint Hills Technical College’s Precision Agriculture and CDL programs. Agenda items include an official rezoning of property from Lyon County Light Industrial to Emporia Light Industrial and a conditional use permit for a technical college at the address. The property has been annexed but holds its Lyon County zoning designation until it is formally rezoned.
Separately, the Planning Commission will look at a conditional use permit for storing RVs outdoors at 2606 West Highway 50.
The meeting slate begins at 6 pm Tuesday at the Municipal Court Room.
