An Emporia woman accused of distributing drugs near a local school while leading a law enforcement pursuit has a pretrial hearing next month in her case.
Mariel Martin, age 40, was charged after an alleged chase that ended near Village School on Feb. 6. Charges include distributing up to 100 grams of methamphetamine and up to 100 dosage units of Ecstasy within 1,000 feet of a school, aggravated battery, flee and elude, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal damage. The chase ended when Martin allegedly crashed into a minivan and her car went airborne before stopping in a yard near 15th and Thompson. Nobody was hospitalized afterward.
Martin has a pretrial hearing May 1.
