Bridge replacement is ahead in Coffey County, starting next week.
The Kansas Department of Transportation says the Lynx Road bridge over Frog Creek is designated for replacement. It’s nearly 2 miles north of Old Highway 50, or 26th Road, and is set for a 3-span structure that will be wider and longer than a bridge built in 1974 at 120 feet long with 12-foot driving lanes.
Work should be done before New Year’s Eve. B&B Bridge Company of St Paul won the contract with a better than $820,000 bid.
