Repairs are done on a water main break in central Emporia.
Crews were called to the 800 block of West 9th for repairs, finishing their work around 5 pm. Service has been restored to nearby homes.

Emporia Underground Utilities is working on an emergency repair in central Emporia.
Crews have officially responded to the 800 block of West 9th on Tuesday afternoon. Water was flowing south along Walnut to 7th shortly after the break was reported.
Ninth is closed to thru traffic until further notice. City Communications Manager Christine Torrens says water service may be affected for residents near the water line break.
