The United Way of the Flint Hills’ annual fundraising campaign is now less than a month from coming to an end.
The annual Campaign Celebration has been announced: May 14 at the Fairgrounds Bowyer Community Building. Lunch is provided.
The last update in late February had the United Way campaign at $485,000, approaching the $500,000 goal.
Tickets are $10 for individuals or $80 for tables of 8 guests. More information is available at unitedwayoftheflinthills.org.
Separately, the United Way is hosting a Pathways to Hope: Community Resource Fair on April 25 at the Salvation Army, 327 Constitution. This event will connect residents with resources and services. Backpacks, hats, free haircuts and toiletry kits will be available. There will also be 10-ride LCAT bus passes, help with IDs, disability and veteran support services and resources assisting with jobs, housing and healthcare. A free meal will also be provided.
Registration is not needed. People needing rides need to call LCAT at 620-343-4207 on April 24.
The Pathways to Hope: Community Resource Fair is funded through the Kansas Department of Commerce Rural Champions program.
