Emporia State University’s William Allen White Library debuts a new exhibit Tuesday.
The exhibit is called “Across Town, Across America: Emporia on the National Stage,” and Libraries and Archives Public Services Supervisor Rebekah Curry says the exhibit connects with the nation’s 250th anniversary this year.
Curry says there was a lot of research needed for the exhibit, especially with topics or people that may be considered unfamiliar to a lot of residents.
The opening reception is from 5-7 Tuesday at the library’s exhibit hall outside Room 119. Curry says it’s a come-and-go event that’s free and open to the public. The exhibit will be available to the public for the rest of the year, but it also links to a smaller exhibit — also about the nation’s 250th anniversary — that’s focused on the American Revolution in children’s books.
