Central and south Osage County now have three notable construction processes underway through the Kansas Department of Transportation.
KDOT is starting a mill-and-overlay project on US Highway 75 from Johnson Road to Kansas Highway 68, or just northeast of Melvern Lake. Traffic adjustments have been announced, including one-lane traffic through the active work zone, a pilot car and flaggers. Delays of up to 15 minutes are likely.
APAC-Shears of Hutchinson won the contract with a $1.4 million bid.
This project coincides with a bridge replacement underway now on US-75 over the Marais des Cygnes bridge just north of K-31. Also underway is mill-and-overlay work on K-276 from Olivet to US 75.
