Emporia High soccer delivered a dominant performance Tuesday night, rolling past Wichita Classical 6-0 in Wichita.
The Lady Spartans wasted no time setting the tone. Just 17 minutes into the match, Rylie Mitchell broke through the defense and found the back of the net to give Emporia the early lead. The momentum barely had time to settle before Deysi Coon struck again with 18 minutes remaining in the first half, extending the advantage to 2-0.
Mitchell wasn’t finished. With eight minutes left before halftime, she added her second goal of the night, sending the Black and Red into the break with a commanding 3-0 lead.
After halftime, Emporia picked up right where it left off. Emersyn Johnson added to the scoreboard with 22 minutes remaining in the game and Coon tallied her second goal of the night with 17 minutes left to play. Madison Evans capped off the scoring effort with seven minutes remaining.
EHS improves to 6-3 and welcomes Topeka West to Spartan Field on Thursday.
