Emporia High softball dropped both league contests in Manhattan on Friday.
In game one, the Indians came out on top 4-1.
Emporia scored first in the top of the first before being shutout the final six innings. Yzabel Ultreras reached on an error and Alivia Barrett brought her home with a triple. Manhattan answered immediately in the bottom of the frame and took the lead in the second, 2-1. The Indians added two insurance runs in the fourth.
Barrett had two of the teams six hits.
Delaney Davis suffered the loss and surrendered two earned runs. EHS finished with five errors allowing two runs.
Game two was a run rule victory 13-2 for Manhattan.
The Indians scored one in the first and another in the third to take the lead into fourth. The Black and Red tied it in the in the top of the fourth. Marley Sewell drove in two with a triple. MHS took the lead back with two in the bottom of the inning and walked it off with a nine run fifth.
EHS was held to five hits with two from Atlyn Heffron.
Barrett took the loss. She surrendered 4 earned runs. Nine unearned runs scored off four errors.
Emporia drops to 7-9 (2-6) and travels to Iola on Friday, May 1.
