A Wichita man was taken to Newman Regional Health following a two-semi collision in Lyon County early Friday.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the accident was reported at 8 am at Kansas Turnpike Mile Marker 140.1 northbound. The KHP says a 2021 Freightliner driven by 30-year-old Cody Caylor of Earlham, Iowa, was traveling in the right lane and “unaware of how slow” a 1998 Kenworth semi, driven by 28-year-old Krimsun Tincher of Wichita, was traveling.
Caylor was unable to slow down and struck the Tincher semi on the side of a trailer that it was pulling. Caylor was not injured in the accident; however, Tincher was taken to Newman with suspected minor injuries.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.

Details are developing after a crash involving two semis on the Kansas Turnpike northeast of Emporia on Friday.
Emporia Fire transported one person to Newman Regional Health for treatment afterward. Other details have not yet been released by the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Law enforcement and emergency response crews are en route to a reported injury crash in north Lyon County.
The wreck was reported just after 8:30 am at Kansas Turnpike mile marker 140. Further details are currently pending.
