After severe weather activity Sunday afternoon, more severe storms are possible Sunday night into Monday morning.
The Storm Prediction Center has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 4 am. Lyon, Chase, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties are included. Hail up to 3 inches in diameter and wind gusts up to 70 mph are the main threats. Tornadic activity should be isolated.
Further south, Greenwood County is in a tornado watch until 4 am.

12:40 pm Sunday: Severe thunderstorm watch until 7 pm
A severe thunderstorm watch is now in effect for the entire KVOE listening area.
The watch goes until 7 pm Sunday for Lyon and all surrounding counties, reflecting the potential for severe storm development between now and 6 pm. The main hazards with any storms that develop in the mid to late afternoon hours will be large hail, possibly up to 2.5 inches in diameter, and high winds between 60 and 70 mph.
A second round of storms is possible later in the evening, possibly through Monday morning, with all hazards possible. KVOE and KVOE.com will have updates as warranted.
11:15 am Sunday: WEATHER: Two rounds of severe storm potential possible Sunday into Monday
The KVOE listening area could be in for a stormy afternoon and evening with two rounds of severe weather potential in the forecast.
The National Weather Service has Lyon and all surrounding counties in an enhanced risk area with the first round of storms forecasted to begin between noon and 6 pm. The main hazards with afternoon storm activity will be large hail, up to 2.5 inches in diameter, and damaging winds between 60 and 70 mph.
Once the afternoon storm chances clear out, another round of activity is possible between 10 pm and 5 am, with hail and high winds again the main concerns. There is also the potential for a brief tornado or two and heavy rainfall could also lead to flash flooding in some areas.
