The latest round of Kansas Airport Improvement Program grants will benefit one area facility.
Eureka’s Milliken Airport is receiving $180,000 to rebuild the apron and taxilane.
Emporia Municipal Airport didn’t get any funding with this round of grants, but it appears this spring and summer will be busy with construction work. Interim Public Works Director Brian Silcott says the next project is in the bid process.
As far as longstanding plans to extend the runway, well, that’s still a longstanding goal.
