Emporian Megan Hilbish is now on the National Rifle Association Board of Directors.
Hilbish says she filed an application last year. Then she had to wait until the Nominating Commission handled its own process.
After the Nominating Committee process, Hilbish was then elected by NRA members with at least 5 years of consecutive membership or lifetime members. SHe received a 3-year term
HIlbish applied because she feels there is a need to have people with deep knowledge of shooting sports on the board. She says committee work is coming, and she is focused on exactly that.
Hilbish is currently volunteering on the Small Bore National Committee.
Known locally for her success in shooting sports at the local, national and international levels, Hilbish is now branching out into martial arts, attaining two national championships at the American Taekwondo Association tournament.
A human resources supervisor at Simmons after serving as a director at the Kansas State Rifle Association, Hilbish is also working to develop the 10XChick Foundation, which works to educate and promote the positive use of firearms. She also remains involved in Twin Rivers Shooting Sports and the Lyon County 4-H Shooting Sports program.
