Over the next week-plus, Emporia State University will bring three finalists for Dean of the School of Business and Technology to campus.
The process begins Thursday afternoon with Derek Yonai, the current director of the Brown Innovation Center at Flagler College in Saint Augustine, Florida, and a former Emporia State professor. Yonai was an associate professor at ESU from 2017 to 2023. He has also served at Southern Methodist University, Florida Southern College and Campbell University. Yonai has a bachelor’s degree in economics from California, Irvine; as well as a juris doctorate from Whittier Law School; and a masters and Ph.D. in economics from George Mason.
Residents can meet Yonai during a special gathering at 4:30 pm Thursday at the Breidenthal University House, 1522 Highland. Another on-campus presentation is at 1:30 pm Friday at Cremer Hall Room 205.
ESU has two candidates on campus next week, one May 4-5 and another May 7-8. Those candidates will be divulged later.
