Emporia High softball ended a four game losing skid with a split Friday in Iola.
The Lady Spartans scored in every inning for the 14-2 victory in game one.
Delaney Davis got Emporia on the board with a two-run in the first. Molly Williams plated the third run of the game with s double in the second. The Lady Spartans broke the game open with a five-run third.
Atlyn Heffron had a team high four hits including two doubles and Marley Sewell hit her first homerun of the season.
Davis earned the win and struckout six.
Game two was a pitcher’s dual with Iola taking it 2-1.
Both teams got on the board in the third. Iola took the advantage in the sixth.
After 14 hits in game one, the Black and Red had just four in the night cap.
Both Mustang runs were unearned as Alivia Barrett suffered the loss.
The Lady Spartans move to 8-10. EHS makes up a previously postponement against Wichita SE on Monday.
