Sentencing is ahead in July for a man now facing a shorter list of charges for sexually exploiting a child after a plea agreement finalized last week.
Nicholas Rodriguez, age 31, pleaded no contest to one count of exploitation and three counts of violating protection orders as part of a pretrial hearing this past Friday. Rodriguez was initially facing two exploitation counts and 14 protection order violation counts, but the remainder were dismissed as part of the agreement.
Sentencing is July 1. The agreement indicates Rodriguez could be sentenced to over 20 years in prison for the exploitation count, as well as a fine of up to $300,000 despite the no-contest plea.
