Emporia Police officers say a runaway teenager has been found.
Officers announced a request for public help in finding 14-year-old Ava Wasylk shortly after the teenager was reported as a runaway around 1 pm. At that time, she was last ween walking west from Sixth and Commercial. Shortly after 4:30 pm, officers said Wasylk was found and reunited with family.

Emporia Police are seeking information on the whereabouts of a runaway teen.
According to EPD, 14-year-old Ava Wasylk was reported as a runaway at approximately 1 pm Thursday. Wasylk is listed as 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing between 120 and 130 lbs, and was last seen leaving her apartment building just after 12:45 pm, wearing a white Dr. Pepper shirt with the number 23 on the front, with blue shorts and black slide sandals.
Her last known whereabouts were westbound from the area of 6th Avenue and Commercial Street. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact Emporia Police at 620-343-4200.
