The Emporia High baseball team hosted a classic beginning on Friday at Soden’s Grove. An eight-run sixth inning sunk the Spartans in a 14-1 run-rule loss to Mill Valley. Mill Valley led 6-1 through four after scoring three in the third and three more in the fourth. EHS plated their only run in the bottom of the fourth. The Jaguars got their offense rolling again in the sixth to put the game away. Colton Eubanks gave up six runs in 3.1 innings to take the loss, but only two were earned as the Black & Red committed three errors in the game. The Black & Red return to action Saturday hosting St. Thomas Aquinas at noon.
