Mid-spring means splash pad season gets underway.
Emporia’s splash pad at Peter Pan Park opens Friday. Hours are 10 am to 8 pm Tuesdays through Sundays and 12-8 pm Mondays. The splash pad typically stays open through mid-October.
The city has a web page, emporiaks.gov/splashpad, with more information on rules.
Opening dates for splash pads in Americus and Strong City have not been announced.
The Jones Aquatic Center opens May 23 and will remain open until mid-August.
