Emporia High baseball concluded Centennial League action with a pair of 12-2 wins Tuesday at Soden’s Grove over Topeka High.
Oliver Kline drove in five as EHS took game one 12-2.
Emporia wasted no time with three runs in the first. Colton Eubanks doubled in a run and Eluterio Trujillo singled in another. The Spartans blew the game open with a seven run second. The first five hitters reached base as Emporia batted around.
Kline finished with three hits and five RBI’s.
Eubanks earned the win in five innings with eight strikeouts.
EHS also won 12-2 in game two.
The a Spartans broke the scoreless tie with three in the third as Eubanks continued to rake driving in all three on a base knock. The Black and Red added five more in the fourth and led 8-1 after four.
Micah Gray and Caydrick Crouch each picked up two hits.
Trujillo went six with nine punch outs to pick up the win.
Coach Anthony Markowitz was thrilled with his starting pitchers both earning complete game wins.
EHS ends league play 3-7 and sits at 10-12 ahead of the season finale Friday at Wichita Southeast.
