Lyon County deputies say an Oklahoma man was hurt in a Wednesday morning wreck near Neosho Rapids.
Deputy Fernando Zuniga says 30-year-old Cole Duncan, hometown not listed, was driving a motorcycle when a deer came across his path, resulting in a crash in the 1600 block of Kansas Highway 130 or Road X, about a mile north of Neosho Rapids. Duncan fell off the motorcycle and skidded across the highway.
Duncan was taken by ambulance to Newman Regional Health. Emporia Fire says Duncan had suspected serious injuries. Zuniga says Duncan was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash around 5:50 am Wednesday.

One person has been transported to Newman Regional Health after a crash near Neosho Rapids early Wednesday.
Emporia Fire and Lyon County deputies were among the responding agencies after a motorcycle crash in the 1600 block of Road X, or Kansas Highway 130. Emporia Fire says the motorcycle collided with a deer shortly before 6 am.
The motorcycle driver was hospitalized with suspected serious injuries. Other details are currently pending.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area until further notice.
6:30 am Wednesday: Injury crash reported east of Emporia
Emergency responders and law enforcement are on the scene of a reported injury crash in east Lyon County.
Crews and deputies were called to the 1600 block of Road X around 5:50 am. Early indications are the wreck involves a motorcycle and a deer.
