Out-of-state travel and purchase requests all gained unanimous approval from Lyon County Commissioners during their regular action meeting Thursday morning.
Commissioners would approve a trio of requests from Lyon County Engineer Wayne Scritchfield, who was seeking approval to purchase a rebuild kit from Murphy Tractor for $7,650, including shipping; as well as a quote from Murphy for an estimated $12,352 to purchase an excavator tilting bucket; and a bid for 440 tons of CMS-1PC from Ergon Asphalt, for a total of just over $397,700. As for travel matters, Lyon County Area Transportation Director Shane Brunner sought approval for Misty Norton to attend the Advancing Mobility Management Course in Edmond, Oklahoma, June 7th through the 9th, with spending not to exceed $1,500.
Facilities Director Robbie Weiss also sought approval of a pair of travel requests for Jeramia Linden to attend the Detention Equipment Training Program in San Diego, June 8th through the 11th, for an amount not to exceed $1,700 and for Chris Wilkinson to attend the MAPCON PRO Fundamentals in Des Moines, Iowa, August 11th through the 13th, for an amount not to exceed $2,700. All expenses will be paid for through the facilities’ travel fund.
Before these actions, commissioners approved signing a proclamation recognizing America 250 Weekend in Emporia as submitted by Clay Childs and Richelle Birk. America 250 Weekend will run from July 3rd through the 6th.
County commissioners will reconvene for their regular action meeting next Thursday at 9 am inside the Lyon County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
