There are several severe weather chances ahead for Lyon and surrounding counties.
The Storm Prediction Center has at least marginal risks Thursday evening through Tuesday. Officially, there is a slight risk for severe weather Thursday for all hazards, although wind and hail are by far the main concerns. Friday has a slight to marginal risk for wind and hail. Short-term, though, TV-13 meteorologist Doug Meyers doesn’t expect much if any severe weather Thursday night or Friday night.
Saturday has a marginal to slight risk areawide, with a slight risk area west of a Council Grove to Florence line Sunday, a slight to enhanced risk areawide Monday and a slight risk areawide Tuesday.
There will be several potential triggers into early next week, including a set of frontal boundaries over time and the location of a dryline — possibly starting in central Kansas.
