Emporia’s Allie Weiss captured gold for a third straight year Saturday in the KSHSAA 5-1A Diving Meet at Shawnee Mission Aquatic Center in Lenexa.
The senior had to overcome a five point deficit going into championship day. Weiss edged out Sydney Schumaker of Maize South 469.65-460.10.
Weiss upped her level of difficulty for her three final dives on Saturday to pick up the win. She ends her diving career going perfect her senior year and winning three state titles.
