A Carbondale man was killed and a Lyndon man was hurt in an accident last week.
The Kansas Highway Patrol has released information about Friday’s crash that developed 2 miles north of Carbondale on Topeka Avenue. Troopers say 64-year-old John Modde of Carbondale was driving an SUV and was in the process of leaving a private drive and turning north onto Topeka, but he did so in front of a southbound pickup driven by 32-year-old Darius Rose of Lyndon. The Rose truck then broadsided Modde’s SUV on the driver side.
Modde was killed. Rose was taken to Stormont Vail Health in Topeka with suspected minor injuries.
