Two Herington residents have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery on law enforcement and aggravated child endangerment.
The Council Grove Police Department says officers responded to Morris County Hospital for an unspecified child welfare issue shortly before 7 pm this past Thursday. The child was put into police protective custody, after which a parent allegedly became disorderly, was asked to leave and didn’t.
Officers say they arrested Mika Naiker on suspicion of aggravated battery on law enforcement, aggravated endangerment and disorderly conduct. Tomas Barrera, meanwhile, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated endangerment, disorderly conduct, possession of tetrahydrocannabinol and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Formal charges are pending.
