The Emporia Lions Club has selected the recipients of the Cleve Cook/Emporia Lions Club Memorial Fund grant program.
The club has announced the following recipients and dollar amounts:
*Lyon County 4-H Shooting Sports, $500
*Emporia Farmers Market, $500
*IBT Community Gardens: $1,000
*Hetlinger Developmental Services greenhouse, $1,000
*Lyon County Extension garden, $1,000
*Emporia Imaginarium, $1,200
*Red Rocks State Historic Site, $1,200
*Good Way Gardens, $2,000
*CrossWinds Counseling Ag Outreach, $2,000
*Southwick House, $12,500
The club also distributed an agriculture scholarship to Camryn Spafford at a cost of $2,000.
All told, the Lions distributed $25,400 to honor Cook, an agriculture grain dealer and a one-time president of the Lions. Funds go towards projects supporting youth and agriculture.
