Rain from the weekend does not appear to be affecting the schedule for opening the Sertoma Club’s miniature train to the public this week.
The club plans to start the miniature train season Wednesday and continue through the end of August. The season opener follows the normal schedule of 6:30-8:30 pm.
Besides Wednesday evenings, the train is also running from 9-11 am Thursdays and from 6:30-8:30 pm Saturdays and Sundays.
The train has been running for community events, most recently Good Neighbor Day America last month, as well as private parties and school field trips so far this spring.
The Sertoma Club began operating the train in 2002 after assuming duties from the Early Bird Optimist Club the prior year. Because of the cancellation of the season in 2020 due to COVID-19, this is the 25th year for the Sertoma Club to run the train.
