A Herington teenager suffered injuries following an ATV accident Saturday.
According to Lyon County Deputy Fernando Zuniga, Lyon County Sheriff’s Deputies and EMS were called to the intersection of Road H2 and Road 350 for a reported rollover accident just after 3:20 pm. Following arrival on scene, deputies determined that 13-year-old Adam Shields of Herington was operating a Polaris Sportsman 450 in the area.
Shields reportedly failed to negotiate a turn while approaching the intersection and lost control landing in the west ditch. Shields was taken to Morris County Hospital with reported minor injuries as a result of the crash.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident.
