The Emporia Public Library has a busy day ahead Tuesday.
The Library will start off the morning hours by kicking off its Tuesday’s in the Park series in Peter Pan Park at 10 am. Library Director Pauline Stacchini says the mornings will be jampacked with food, fun and so much more.
This year, the library will be splitting its Tuesday’s in the Park series between Emporia’s various local parks and the Flint Hills Mall due in part to the heat of the summer season. Although Tuesday does have a heat advisory in place for Lyon and most surrounding counties due to forecasted excessive heat, Stacchini says they will not be moving the morning’s activities indoors as they anticipate the weather will cooperate in the mid-morning hours.
Once the afternoon rolls around, community activities will move back to the library itself for an event rooted in sport, culture and education. The library will host Kick, Score and Explore starting at 2:30 pm.
The FIFA World Cup-inspired event will include plenty of sport and learning.
These activities are just a pair of the plethora of summertime activities the library has planned for the community. A full calendar of activities and more information is available online at Emporiapl.librarycalendar.com.
