The high school baseball season may be over, but one of Council Grove’s top players will have one more opportunity to take the field this summer.
Council Grove senior Maxton Villalobos has been selected to play in the Kansas Association of Baseball Coaches All-State Game, scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, at noon at Eck Stadium in Wichita.
Villalobos was named to the Black squad after a standout senior campaign for the Braves. He earned 3A First Team All-State honors and helped lead Council Grove to one of the most successful seasons in program history.
Joining Villalobos at the all-star event will be Council Grove head coach Matt Wilkens and assistant coach Brock Finch.
The Braves finished the 2026 season with 26 victories, the highest single-season win total in school history.
