An electric utility serving part of the KVOE listening area has been approved for federal and state funds to help with ongoing projects.
Flint Hills Rural Electric Cooperative has received almost $460,000 through the Build Kansas program, as well as $1 million in federal funding through the Infrastructure and Investment Jobs Act. With a company contribution of nearly $25,000 Flint Hills has almost $1.5 million now earmarked toward pole and line replacement.
Build Kansas offers state matching money if projects are successful in gaining federal grants through the Infrastructure and Investment Jobs Act.
Governor Laura Kelly’s office also commended the work of the Kansas Infrastructure Hub to connect stage agencies and serve as a resource center for communities looking for federal and state funding for their projects.
