Highway construction begins next week on a state highway south of Lyndon.
The Kansas Department of Transportation begins a mill-and-overlay project on Kansas Highway 68 on Monday. The project will stretch from US Highway 75 around 2 miles south of Lyndon to the K-268 junction near Quenemo, a distance of around 12 miles.
During the project, traffic will be restricted to one lane. Drivers will be directed through the work zone by a pilot car and flaggers. Delays of up to 15 minutes can be expected. A 12-foot lane width restriction will also be part of the process.
APAC Shears of Hutchinson won the contract with a $1.5 million bid. Work should be done by the end of July.
