A pair of Osage City residents were arrested on suspicion of drug possession following a traffic stop in the town Friday afternoon.
According to Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells, deputies conducted the stop in the 400 block of Main Street in Osage City at 4 pm for an alleged traffic violation. As the stop was in progress, a K-9 unit was deployed and reportedly indicated that narcotics were inside the vehicle.
The occupants of the vehicle, identified as 41-year-old David A. Cannon and 43-year-old Jacob W. Whitmore, both of Osage City, were arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Formal charges are currently pending.
