SOS Inc. has received nearly $5,000 from another Emporia institution following a successful fundraiser last month.
Members of the ESB Financial leadership team met with SOS representatives Tuesday afternoon to deliver a check for $4,659 to support the agency’s work in the local community. The dollars were generated by the bank’s recent 125th-anniversary golf tournament, held on May 22, which saw nearly 30 teams take part.
ESB Vice President of Marketing Kandace Wakeman stated they were “incredibly grateful to everyone who participated, sponsored, volunteered, and
supported the tournament. This event was about more than golf. It was an opportunity to bring our community
together and support an organization that has made a lasting impact on countless lives
over the past 50 years.”
The 125th anniversary of ESB coincides with SOS’s 50th anniversary celebration, with Wakeman noting during last month’s tournament that, in addition to appreciating the work done by SOS, ESB’s roots have been intertwined with the advocacy agency since its inception, making SOS an ideal choice to receive the funds.
